COSMIC SEEDS

66 million years ago, life on Earth was purged by a cataclysmic bombardment from the skies. Fast forward to the modern day, a scientist locates the craters formed by these impacts.
There, he makes a monumental discovery: massive deposits of a mineral unknown to science, carried to our planet by asteroids from the outer reaches of the galaxy. What he fails to understand is that these minerals are incubators for the seeds of an alien civilization aiming to expand throughout the universe after their own planet was decimated. Enraptured by his findings, the scientist begins recklessly experimenting.
Very soon, life on Earth will once again be in danger…

Pyrocataclysm

An apocalyptic crescendo to mark the end of giants.

A world once bursting with life transforms into a brutal killing field.

The imposing creatures that dominated the planet are dwarfed by a ceaseless bombardment, raining death down from the heavens.

Seas of molten rock engulf the land as fire belching mountains rupture and erupt, spewing their insides in deafening explosions.

Clouds of scorching, toxic fumes and vapors envelop the Earth, choking the atmosphere.

This monumental purge of life was followed by rejuvenation. But those offerings from the sky deposited their own seeds. They lay dormant..

Hazardous Mutation

His vision was coming to life.

The craters formed by the Earth-shattering impacts that extinguished life millions of years ago had finally been located, and the precious ores hiding beneath them were ready to be extracted. He meticulously studied the samples he collected and soon discovered the monumental potential they contained. Minerals formed in the outer reaches of our galaxy, made up of a radioactive element unknown to science.

His lust to harness its power drove him insane. The possibilities of controlling such unprecedented levels of energy were endless. After spending years crafting its design, the power plant was operational.

On the push of a button, he set in motion a chain of events that would bring mankind to its knees. A hazardous mutation of life was only the beginning…

Celestial Incubation

I was right. The mineral crystals recovered from the fallen meteorites contain genetic material that has survived the interstellar journey to Earth. Proof that there is life out there; life that can enter a cryptobiotic state, lay dormant and regenerate when it encounters the right environment.

I have calculated and replicated the conditions of their home planet. Now they stand before me, and they’ve become my obsession. Am I wrong to be playing God? In this dark, steamy laboratory I’ve opened the doors to a whole new world.

But my research is not complete. I have to find where these remarkable creatures have come from, and what their purpose is. The key lies in the crystals..

Cryptobiosis

Sergeant S. Condor, day 7.665 of hypersleep.

I was awakened from suspended animation following an emergency signal. Stumbling out of my pod I thought I was trapped in a fever dream, as sharp screams and unearthly growls flooded the starship’s corridors. Turns out my nightmare was just beginning, and it was real.

The…creatures were feeding on people still in hypersleep and eviscerating my crew. Those chimerical monstrosities made our vessel their home while we were blissfully floating in deep space. What are they, how did they get here?

I need to look for other survivors. Our mission to mine the outer galaxy’s asteroid belt was successful, but we are heading back to Earth while those freaks keep multiplying. Do I turn this ship around?

I pray you receive this message in time.

Released Virulence

Sergeant S. Condor, day 32 since the fateful moment we were awakened from hypersleep.

My crew has been decimated. Time stood still in the suffocatingly narrow corridors of our vessel as we faced endless waves of those… abominations.

They kept multiplying, growing and mutating before our eyes. Horrifying contorted limbs tearing through flesh, miasmatic fluids oozing from their open wounds, visceral screams piercing our ears. They behaved like a hivemind, their lifeforce directed through an appalling biological growth spreading faster with each fallen soldier.

In the end I was able to contain them in the cargo port, where they originally spawned from. I soon discovered that the minerals we extracted from the last asteroid yield were housing their seeds, suspended in animation for millennia.

Stumbling back to the control room, I ejected them from the vessel, banishing them to the mercy of deep space. May they forever disappear in the vast nothingness, never to return.

Severed Survival

I thought it was all finally over. I thought that locking the vile monstrosity inside the escape pod and sending it to the mercy of deep space would be the end of it, but I was wrong.

The escape pod was still sending signals, showing signs of activity. It was still alive, its monstrous tentacles frantically writhing inside its asphyxiating metal prison, looking for an escape. The lack of oxygen and nutrition had no effect on it.

I altered the spaceship's course to stalk the escape pod. I had a new mission now. After it butchered my entire crew, leaving me as the only survivor, I had to make sure that it would be eliminated, for good.

Who knows what could happen if it landed on another planet ripe with life? I cannot bear the responsibility of such a calamity.

After months following this altered course, I received a final communication from the escape pod. It had a crashed on an uncharted sector of this solar system. With no further information, I landed on this unknown planet. I won't stop until it's dead.

Crystal Spawn

I brought that monster to its knees. Every fibre of being drained from its wretched corpse. This time I made sure of it.

I'm getting an eerie feeling from this planet. Something feels... off. I have the sense that despite the barren, lifeless landscape, I'm being watched. In the distant horizon, I saw a colossal beam of light piercing the sky. It felt like it was beckoning me, and I heeded its calling.

I could never have pictured what awaited me. A vast field of crystals towering over me, gigantic monoliths harvesting the astral luminescence. My retinas were seared by the intensity, my mind entranced by the reflections.

As I walked further to its interior, the organic particle readers on my exosuit went ballistic. I was surrounded by life. But where was it?

That's when I heard the shatters. A celestial awakening. Dormant for millennia, these organisms were encased in the crystals, growing until the moment was right for them to be released.

Why do they wake from their aeonic slumber now? Was I lured here? What is the purpose of this breeding ground?

Extinction Algorithm

It was all part of their plan. In my hunt for revenge, I never considered the implications, and I fell right into their trap.

The things I’ve witnessed are beyond anything I ever imagined possible. A civilization so advanced that it has transcended the shackles of mortality and morality all together. Dominion and expansion is their only concern.

And how do they achieve it? Seeding the universe by encoding their genetic material in crystal lattices, using them as wombs as they hitch their ride on asteroids. The same crystals we were tasked with harvesting, unknowing of their contents. Their technology is fascinating, but their ambitions are malign.

I’ve been captured by their generals. A mere specimen for them to study and to extract as much information as possible from, before my race becomes the next victim to their subjugation. They interact with me through their digital forms, but have mastered the art of transforming to a physical state.

What use will they have for me once they have taken all the insights they need? To them, I am nothing more than an inferior species, from a planet they only want to use up for its resources before its drained and abandoned as a barren memory. I need to escape before they find out too much, and find a way to return to Earth.

They must have some kind of weakness, something we can use against them. Because we will resist.

Dormant Sentience

Traces of life transported through the emptiness of the cosmic abyss in a prison of ice and rock. Encased in crystals sculpted during their volcanic birth in worlds unknown.

An alien species seeding the galaxy with the intent to proliferate. Lying dormant for millennia, the primordial soup of microorganisms awaits to receive the signal. The key to induce a rapid charge of piezoelectricity through the crystalline lattices and set the fabrics of their genome in motion.

Their intelligence is advanced. Light years are no barrier to their communications. Morality is a concept they have shed off. Total dominance is their purpose.
A link has been established to the celestial apparitions swarming in, as they detect a planet ripe for the taking.

The gateway has been opened.
